A river cruise to the remote island of Kim Bong. Carpentry is their thing. Amazing what they can do with a wooden mallet and sharp chisel. Afterward, we strolled an immense organic vegetable plantation and then a cooking class for the classic Vietnamese pancake.
Pancake is made with rice milk and egg, stir in chicken and shrimp, cook, toss, throw in some been sprouts, cook, toss, fold and it is yours. A great time with our teacher/cook. He liked lighting our peanut oil on fire, as did we.
The afternoon was relaxing, huge, dark clouds overhead, but no real rain. We heard on the evening news, that Da Nang, just 30 miles south of us had moderate to severe flooding, us, a sprinkle or two. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
| These are the biggest sandbags I have ever seen. No beach erosion here. |
| Speaking of big, this is the biggest spider I have ever seen. That is my thumb! (Oh, he was in Tom and Kathy's room) |
